A Little History

In December of 1977 a group of entrepreneurs got together to discuss the feasibility of producing labels, bumper stickers and T-shirts. As a result DuraTech, Inc. was formed. When the company was bought in April 1978, it was operating out of a Galesville, Wisconsin garage and employed six people.

A temporary move placed DuraTech into the Muddy Flats area of La Crosse in 1979. DuraTech later moved its operations into the SkipperLiner building in 1980. This move located the company in La Crosse, Wisconsin’s Industrial State Park where it shared the back third of the building with SkipperLiner Houseboats. At this point the decision was made to discontinue textile production and concentrate on printing on plastics.

In 1986 DuraTech purchased land next to the SkipperLiner building and built a 26,000 square foot manufacturing and office facility. A 29,000 addition in 1998 expanded the manufacturing facility to 55,000 square feet. With the pursuit of quality in high gear in the 90’s all printing presses were upgraded or replaced with automatic or semiautomatic functionality. DuraTech pursued and established certification in ISO9002 in 1998. This allowed the company to further its creditability as a premiere quality screen printer.

2004 saw an additional 21,000 square feet added to DuraTech's manufacturing capacity making the total at 76,000 square feet.

Into the Future

DuraTech is growing! Not only in new product and service offerings but also around the world! Our new China location will service an expanding customer base. And our sister company, DuraColor compliments our existing product line with expert large format graphics.
